RuArts Gallery, together with the European Cultural Center Russia, presents a personal exhibition of Nobuyoshi Araki, one of the most provocative and daring cult photographers who have become world famous. At the exhibition "Monstrous Paradise" will be presented 50 previously unexposed works of the Japanese photographer from the new series, as well as the book of the same name.
Nobuyoshi Araki was born in Tokyo in 1940 and became widely known for his candid image of women associated in the kinbaku technique (Japanese erotic bonding). Araki photographed thousands of Japanese women from strangers to their lovers, revealing the primitive intense energy, physically constrained, but free emotionally.
Flowers - a separate favorite story of a famous photographer. Bright and defiant, they follow the contours of the female body and extol the power of the feminine.
Still lifes from the Monstrous Paradise series presented in the gallery are exhibited for the first time. Wild jungle, where danger and temptation, pain and bliss, life and death lurk. In every shot, sensual aesthetics are shaded by the inevitability of the end. With more careful contemplation, the skin merges with the leaves, lips with flowers, the background is saturated with bloody eroticism.
Curators of the exhibition: Radmila Sargsyan, Svetlana Eroshina.
The exhibition will be held from December 8, 2018 to February 3, 2019.
