ODESSA. From August 6 to 9, Odessa will host one of the iconic book forums of Ukraine - the XIX International Book Fair "Green Wave", which is the event of the year for the entire book community - writers, readers, publishers and bookselling organizations. The event was organized by the Expo-South-Service exhibition company with the support of the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the Odessa City Council, the Odessa Diplomatic Club, as well as the Association for Cultural and Tourist Exchange of the Council of Europe (ACTE). The organizer of the program is the NGO Regional Development Agency.
The exhibition, which will be held four summer days in the open air - on Deribasovskaya Street, will bring together representatives of the book world, including publishing houses, cultural and publishing centers, book-selling enterprises, famous writers. About 12-14 thousand people visit the Green Wave annually. Within the framework of the book forum, a wide range of book products will be presented - educational, fiction, special, non-fiction, children’s, technical literature, as well as printed graphics and periodicals.
The program of a large-scale book forum: meetings with famous authors and presentations of book novelties; autograph sessions and master classes; creative meetings with cultural figures; book contests; reader contests, prize draws, promotions and more.
Also, as part of the Green Wave, the III Odessa Korneychukovsky Festival of Children’s Literature will be held - the only festival in Ukraine dedicated to children’s creativity and literature. The festival program will bring together writers, publishers, educators, artists, editors, journalists and readers of different ages. Within the framework of the Korneychukovsky festival, an international competition for the best work for children “Korneichukovsky Prize” will be held. During the contest, awards were distributed to more than 100 children’s authors from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Israel, the USA, Slovakia and Germany.
