EAGLE. The Children’s Art School in the exhibition hall opened an exhibition of paintings and drawings by its former student, now Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Silaev. More than forty years ago, Nikolai Silaev took the first steps in the profession within the walls of an art school, and today the artist is one of the most famous artists in the Oryol region.

Nikolai Silaev successfully works in various genres of painting and graphic art. His magnificent paintings with landscapes of the Oryol Territory always attract attention, appreciated by visitors to numerous exhibitions, of which the artist is a participant.

In the 80s, Silaev worked in the field of monumental painting. In his creative luggage, the murals of the premises of many museums in the Oryol region, as well as the decoration of the interiors of institutions, were completed. The artist is fluent in various techniques for performing graphic works, sometimes performing drawings in black and white. In his graphic works, he uses mascara, sanguine, pencil. The Russian Academy of Arts acquired in its collection a series of etchings “Life in Peace”, made by Nikolai Yakovlevich.

The opened exhibition was a real gift from Nikolai Silaev to his native school. It is especially important that the exposition of the exhibition includes works usually hidden from prying eyes. The artist gathered in a separate room sketches, sketches and preparatory drawings, as if showing young talents his creative cuisine. For them, this exhibition has become a real master class.

Many of the works, even the artist’s colleagues who were present at the opening of the exhibition, were unfamiliar. Unfortunately, Nikolai Silaev himself could not appear at the opening of the exhibition - on this day the artist was scheduled to fly on a business trip.
