Igor Dryomin:
Exhibition of Victor Erdneyev and Vasilisa Lipatova Automatic translate
The presentation of the family exhibition of sculptor spouses Victor Erdneyev and Vasilisa Lipatova took place on October 29 in the exhibition halls of the Moscow House of Nationalities. The Trail exhibition includes animal sculptures by Victor and the Vasilisa collection from the Techno-BIO Objects series.
Victor’s animalistic works are a trace of the wild nature: forests, rivers, taiga, steppes, deserts, savannahs. In his works, the author seeks to convey not anatomical accuracy, but to find the essence of nature in the image of an animal. The author creates his own language, creating a space of sculpture in which nature, while remaining beautiful and bewitching, can be both harsh and impregnable. The author’s collection includes giraffes swimming in concentrated gold, hot air - an image of a hot, unsteady savannah; flying in the wind, reduced to a single point of support, barely touching the ground of the horse - the image of the free wind of the steppes; tense and aggravated in shape, hungry wolves drowning in marble snow - the image of the impregnable, severe taiga in the work "Trace".
Vasilisa’s works presented at the exhibition - a series of “Techno-BIO objects” - research and search for common points of contact between a living natural form and mechanical structure. Technologies and mechanisms have long been inseparable from our lives. We are unlikely to survive in a world without electricity and cars.
Note that copies of the sculptures of the authors are in private collections in Russia and abroad, and one of the works is presented in the collection of the Darwin Museum. Another sculptural composition "Steering Wheel" - a joint work of the couple in 2013, was installed in the Moscow Park of Culture and Leisure "Fili".
