March 25 at the State Central Museum of Modern History of Russia will open the exhibition "Transfiguration" of the Japanese master of digital painting Yusuke Akamatsu. An unusual exhibition project will be open to visitors only a few days until March 31, 2020.
Having earned recognition in many countries of the world, the Japanese master of digital painting will bring his works to Russia for the first time. The works of Yusuke Akamatsu at the Transfiguration exhibition focus on the topic of individual awakening.
As a canvas, Yusuke Akamatsu uses his gadget - iPhone. The basis are photographs, which the artist with the help of fantasy and bright colors turns into deep abstract images. The exhibition features widescreen photographs that the master made in Telford, England.
“The technique of Digital Finger Painting involves the use of modern capabilities of computer technology,” says curator of the exhibition Natalia Bezrukova. “This is a leading trend in media art that gives absolutely special opportunities for the creator to make the image more lively and expressive.”
Digital art Yusuke Akamatsu is not only finger art, the author has his own philosophical approach. He raises such a problem as the role of humanity in this world. At the same time, Yusuke has a rather romantic and nostalgic view of the world. The author does not ironic, but states: "there is still hope for the best."
“In his Transfiguration project, Yusuke Akamatsu reflects on the theme of the surrounding space,” comments curator Natalia Bezrukova. - His paintings are images with which he develops such human manifestations as fear, anger, aggression. These images are aimed at making a person think about what he carries into his world. ”
By "transfiguration" the artist means the transformation of the world and, above all, of the person himself. “Before you begin to transform the world, begin this transformation with yourself,” says Yusuke Akamatsu.
After 15 years of television work in Japan, Yusuke Akamatsu left the country in 1997 to travel to Asia and Europe and begin his career as an artist. In his travels around the world, he felt that changes in society were happening very quickly. To keep track of them, you must strive to expand the boundaries of your perception, while not forgetting to turn to the knowledge and experience accumulated over the history of mankind.
The exhibition project "Transfiguration", consisting of original vivid photographic images, prompts the viewer to search for himself in the atmosphere of the bustle of a modern metropolis.
“Only by developing, working on ourselves and taking full responsibility for our lives, we, as a species, will be able to change the world for the better,” says the author of the project.
