Having practically refused communication with friends and a secular lifestyle, Irina Ternovskaya completely devoted herself to creativity - the creation of new works in her own workshop. During a two-year self-restraint and an ascetic lifestyle, Irina not only carried out a huge internal work, but also created a series of graphic works called “The Signs”. In honor of this project, this exhibition is called. Philosophical searches and reflections on the meaning of life led the artist to new serious topics.

As the artist admits, she is fascinated by the world of insects. She admires their forms, the technicality of their designs, the smallest ornaments. Through the image of insects, Irina conveyed her sense of Peace. The artist creates works in a unique author’s technique for several months, practically abstracting from the outside world and concentrating on his work. One of these works took as much as 7 months of her life - thousands of strokes, dots add up like a puzzle into a single composition. Fantasy and scrupulousness of execution is simply mesmerizing!

Creatively analyzing reality, Irina Ternovskaya created pictorial pictograms, which are original carriers of the author’s knowledge. A series of paintings “The Signs” was new for the artist, both in the choice of plot and in the choice of technique. Leaving graphic cleanliness of the sheet, strict lines and hardness of her hand, Irina created exotic flowers and outlandish animals in her “graphic painting”. Illusory, metaphysical, associative creativity of Irina Ternovskaya made her paintings memorable and vivid.

Irina Ternovskaya will present to the audience another series of works entitled “Another Reality”. This project included seven graphic sheets depicting faces from other Worlds.

Irina’s work is permeated with impressions of the numerous travels that her family performed on duty of her father. The vast geography of such travels extends from the exotic Far East to conservative Western Europe. Each new place influenced the formation of the artist’s creative personality, the atmosphere of new cities supplemented the personal picture of the world, strengthened her impression of the previous place and made the contrast with the future even more vivid. Irina’s works can be called a “collage of feelings”, in which there is nostalgia for past events and energy in upcoming accomplishments.
