What could be more comfortable than a house full of flowers and furry cats sitting on window sills? That’s exactly what Sergey Rakutov believes, whose exhibition opens in the "Attic of Artists" on September 16. Heroes of the paintings are his domestic cats, Listik and Fanya. Both of them experience different moments of feline life, delight us with their fluffy calmness and coexist peacefully with home greenery, which for everyone who is familiar with cats looks almost utopian.
Sergey Rakutov - production designer, graduate of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (formerly SPbGATI). He has over 30 films and 9 theatrical productions. Being a big fan of classical music and theater, he admits that working in films greatly influenced his authorial style - without this professional experience, Rakutov’s paintings would also have been more classic. Despite the fact that classical painting rarely addressed such chamber plots, Sergey is happy to portray his cats and fantasize about the pleasant details of everyday life. You can get acquainted with the cozy world of Sergei Rakutov from September 16 to October 15 in the "Attic of Artists".
