April 15 at 16.00 in the exhibition hall of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (on Lenin St., 104) exhibition opens: "Petrov Konstantin Vitalievich. Graphics, painting. "
Aura of creativity surrounded Konstantin Petrov from a young age, fate was destined for him as an artist. His father, a brilliant schedule, Vitaly Natanovich Petrov-Kamchatsky instilled in his son a love of art, taught him to understand and appreciate the beauty of the world around him, and to be patient and responsible in his work. Natural giftedness, the home environment initially created the prerequisites and conditions for Konstantin’s choice of his life credo. He successfully completed his studies at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Vasily Ivanovich Surikov, having received thorough professional training. Then he completed an internship in Germany, at the Academy of Arts in Karlsruhe, and finally completed his studies at the creative workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts and became a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia.
Konstantin Petrov early declared himself as an original master, with his own imaginative vision and pictorial language. Even then, his aesthetic preferences and expressive features of the palette developed. He is actively involved in the most prestigious art exhibitions, becoming a prominent figure in the creative environment.
Konstantin Petrov spent several years in Spain, where he also learned a lot. Here his horizons broadened, a great freedom of expression appeared, collectors, gallery owners and museums began to acquire works of the artist, personal exhibitions of works by the young master were organized. The European experience gained by him in Germany and Spain allows him, without breaking away from the traditions of the national art school, to more strictly and selectively relate to his creative work. He tries himself in different techniques, types of art genres, giving preference to easel forms, unique graphics and paintings. The artist’s favorite materials are watercolor and pastel, in which he feels most relaxed, easy and free. Genre priorities are determined, such as landscape and still life, although it peculiarly and vividly declares itself and in the portrait, as evidenced by the psychological, acute works in this genre, such as Portrait of a Father (2005), Artist and Model (2006), "Nikolai"
Emotionality and observation, professional culture and a genuine sense of immersion in the real and mysterious, in a limited and endless world, largely born in the imagination of the artist in his own image and likeness, allows us to talk about the work of a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, vice of the President of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia Konstantin Vitalievich Petrov as an extraordinary phenomenon on the horizon of modern Russian fine art art, it deserves the memory of his remarkable father and like the free wind and consonant with the unbridled, extraordinary and purposeful nature of the artist.
