December 12 Central House of Artists opens the exhibition and sale of paintings "Tales of the Middle Kingdom." The winter fair has united modern Russian artists with their unique works in several styles of traditional Chinese painting.
The guests will be presented exclusive Chinese painting, which can be purchased for personal collection or in order to please friends and relatives as an unusual New Year’s gift. The exhibition will present all the charm and incomparable charm of oriental painting. The range of genres and styles at the fair is unusually wide - Gunbi (“thorough, diligent brush”), Moguf (“borderless (boneless) painting”), Sé (“painting the idea”), Shan-Shui (landscape painting “mountains and waters ").
“All the pictures presented are not just a picture of nature, but an expression of deep thoughts, encrypted messages,” says the exhibition organizer, artist Yulia Tolmachyova. “Often, pictures are presented for holidays and memorable dates as original talismans, charms, and goodwill.”
“Chinese painting for me is a source of inner peace and concentration, an opportunity to plunge into a different reality for several hours a day and emerge from it with new ideas and solutions,” admits the artist Olga Shcherbakova. “I really want this state of mental balance and harmony, which appears when the Chinese brush touches the paper, to be passed on to the viewer.”
“As is well known, in painting in China, both deep philosophical meaning, a poetic interpretation of phenomena, and national ethical symbolism are hidden. Each stroke, the direction of the branches, the number of petals and stamens - it’s not just that, but the artist’s story about the creation of the world and about the place of man in it. On the thick old bud branch, the buds are also a combination of Yin and Yang, ”explains artist Svetlana Lupanova.
“Peony in Chinese culture is not only a flower, is a symbol of power, pomegranate is not only a fruit, but also a symbol of family, fertility and abundance, as well as rebirth and immortality, the kingfisher is not just a bird, but a symbol of endurance favored by Chinese painting, the lotus is not a flower, but purity of thoughts, ”decorates the symbolism of Chinese painting, artist Oksana Sharova.
Here you can not only buy paintings, but also learn how to make them yourself. The program includes master classes in painting from the authors of works whose works are presented at the New Year art fair.
“At the master classes, you can try creating your own drawings in Gunbi and Gokhua styles, learn the secrets of calligraphy, painting decorative items made from natural materials with oriental ornaments,” says artist Svetlana Surkova.
Also from the New Year’s gifts at the exhibition will present paintings and graphic works, posters and calendars for 2019.
Traditionally, fairs of the Central House of Artists on Krymsky Val are ranked among the best Christmas and New Year fairs in the capital. Winter exhibition and sale of paintings "Fairy Tales of the Middle Kingdom" will last until December 23.
“Visiting the exhibition will be one of the brightest pre-New Year events in Moscow for all who love and appreciate Eastern culture, philosophy and painting. It is so easy to forget about the daily bustle and feel in a real fairy tale of the Middle Kingdom, ”says artist Alyona Savyuk.
