The Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of works by Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Andrey Kugaevsky "Summer of the Lord…". The exposition consisted of about three dozen paintings created by the author over more than 30 years of creative activity.
“Summer of the Lord…” is not only warm sunny days - it is spring, winter, autumn - a year that is given to the artist in order to relive and reflect the beauty of the world around him again and again. According to the author, the goal in the visual arts is not only the ability to accurately depict the visible world, and even not so much this, but the need to find a measure of the relationship between the visual reliability of the image and artistic generalization. Only as a result of this dualism can the Image appear. In search of a natural motive consonant with the idea, the state of the soul, he is always on the road, with a sketchbook, walking under the sun and rain along “meridians and parallels”… The coloristic restraint of Russian nature adjoins the luxury of sunny Crimea at the exhibition, landscapes. He seeks and finds vivid images and shares his observations with the viewer. The impressions of southern nature to a large extent helped to synthesize the basic principles of pictorial art - the exact drawing underlying the composition and each time found its own color scheme, transforming the paint into a specific color harmony.
