On March 6, 2:00 p.m., the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (103 Lenin St., red hall) will host the opening of the exhibition of the Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Vice-President of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, Chairman of the Stavropol Regional Branch of the TSHR Alexander Mikhailovich Rubts “From Nature to image. "
Alexander Rubets painter, formed on the traditions of Russian, Soviet art schools of the late 60-70s.
Initially, the academic accuracy of the drawing is not peculiar to him, there is no need for it, as in the educational frame. The colorful layers, at times similar to pieces of smalt mosaic, like gigantic palms, are carefully held on the surface of the canvas until they completely "grow" to the base. Thick and already “cooled down” colorful pasta, iridescent from the inside with unexpected valers, forms either low mountain spurs or sometimes cliffs melting in the evening haze.
The spontaneity of this universal process is truly surprising; it is in many ways similar to the picturesque plastic art of Paul Cezanne and his Russian followers from The Jack of Diamonds. But their powerful still-life objects, trees, and stuffs “lost” in nature, contoured with hard plastic line, like a stained-glass grating, seem too rational.
The painter from Pyatigorsk lives only in colorful layers, forming some kind of new reality.
The exposition in the city of Kaluga presents the works of Alexander Rubts created in the period 2016 - 2020. These are works from different cycles.
The exhibition runs until April 12th.
