The Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of works by the Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Professor, Head of the Department of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture of the Southern Federal University, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Larisa Georgievna Ushakova. The exhibition presents about 50 paintings of different years. The artist works in the genres of still life, landscape, portrait, monumental and decorative painting.
Ushakova received the first basics of literacy and love for fine art in the city of Grozny, where she was born on March 4, 1960 and attended the art studio of the artist N.F. Lomtyugin in her school years. The author joins in an active creative work after graduating from the Art and Graphic Department of the Rostov Pedagogical Institute in 1982, where she studied with the famous Don painter V. A. Trunin. At the same time, the pedagogical activity of L. G. Ushakova began - she began to teach at the department of fine art.
In 1991, Larisa Georgievna completed her postgraduate studies at V. I. Lenin Moscow Pedagogical State University, where she successfully defended her dissertation under the guidance of Professor A. E. Terentyev, who managed to see in the young artist "a fine colorist and a good draftsman." And since 1997, begins his teaching activities within the walls of the Rostov Art College named after M. B. Grekov, which continues until the present moment.
L. G. Ushakova is a versatile craftsman who successfully works both in easel and in monumental art. The artist performed a number of murals in the interiors of public buildings in Russia and abroad. For example, according to her sketches, the exposition of the Museum of the History of the National Liberation Struggle in Cyprus is framed. Larisa Ushakova regularly participates in domestic and foreign exhibitions, and her work is represented in museum and private collections in Russia and other countries.
According to researchers, she is a continuation of such a direction of art as "South Russian impressionism." A realistic basis, strong drawing, classical composition are characteristic features of the works of L. G. Ushakova. In the created picturesque images, where the plots of the landscape of the South of Russia are preferred, the lively movement of the brush stroke simulates the rhythm of the color plastics of the entire surface of the canvas. Larisa Ushakova has a special interest in an object brought to open space and its transformation under the influence of a light-air environment — a study that touches on a number of complex professional problems. But this is far from just a rational distribution of light and shadow over volumes on a spatial scale. A light-air medium is a necessary figurative component in the full-fledged construction of an artwork, and sometimes its main expressive means, carrying a significant force of emotional charge, or subtext, which determines the sound of a particular thought expressed by the author.
