On October 3 there will be a screening of Sergei Tonyshev’s performance "My Life" based on the story of the same name by Anton Chekhov. In early November, a work will be released on the play by Martin McDonagh "Very, very, very dark matter" directed by Evgeny Zakirov, who is also the author of the translation. This will be the first production of the play on the Russian stage. The next will be the performance of Yegor Trukhin "Mama" based on Florian Zeller. All performances will be held on the New Stage of the Moscow Art Theater. A.P. Chekhov.
Each of the performances will be performed five times, and if it proves its artistic viability to the viewer, it will be included in the repertoire of the Moscow Art Theater.
The director’s laboratory began its work in 2020. The competition was attended by senior students-directors of specialized universities, who had not previously worked on the professional stage. It was necessary to prepare the director’s explications and submit them to the jury. The selection was carried out by the Council of the "Laboratory", which included the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater. A. P.
