The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of the famous Petersburg artist Stanislav Georgievich Svetochenkov. The exhibition will feature paintings and graphic works from different years from the collection of the Borey gallery and private estates.

He studied etching techniques in the workshop of German Pakharevsky. Since 1999, a member of the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg. For many years he was engaged only in etchings, then tried to interpret the same subjects in watercolor. In the late 80s he began to paint. In his works, Stas mainly uses the oil on canvas technique, as well as the techniques of Italian Renaissance masters and Russian artists of the late 19th century. He began exhibition activities in 1987. Personal and group exhibitions were held in major museums and galleries in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Monaco, Nice, Lucerne, Kufstein (Austria), Chrudim, (Czech Republic).
“Fantastic timelessness of real civilizations. The artist’s rich inner world, individual look, his thoughts, humor and a bit of melancholy, plus mastery of his painting techniques, that’s the whole secret of his painting. How nice it is to suddenly stop, to feel that you are plunging into this fairy-tale world, to wander silently. Pictures of Stas always let you visit. I love when painting can be read. "
Olga Kalashnikova
“Stas Svetochenkov is an archaic“ preaching ”aesthetics and adapting it in the context of a new artistic environment. Using the techniques of the masters of the Italian Renaissance, the artist formed his own unique, individual style. The plots of his works are full of brilliant “cultural game”: historical references, biblical motifs, magic symbols. The architectural construction of the composition, characteristic of the author’s creativity, is consonant with the noble color scheme. The rhythm of sharp lines - a kind of engineering drawing, composition design and, at the same time, allusions with abstract forms - confirm the relevance of the timelessness or timelessness of the image, creating the impression of outer space. The paradoxical combination of aristocratic antiquity with futuristic spaces excites the viewer’s imagination, involving in a cultural dialogue. "
Ksenia Makarenko
“The plots of his works are inspired by biblical themes and classic motifs. In his works, the thematic and stylistic influence of the Greek archaic is evident. In the works of Stas we see a complex, intricate world of images intertwined in the most bizarre way. "
Natalia Shevchenko
NEW RIVERA COTE D’AZUR, 2001
“… The canvases of this talented artist from St. Petersburg are a rethinking of timeless classic plots and Bible themes…”
ART & DECONVERTE, 2001
"… This is an artist - researcher…"
TENDENCE, MONACO, 2001
“… Allegorical plots, an original technique, a combination of two different styles, distinguish it from the masses. "
“Parallels can be drawn between all areas of art. And painting, and graphics, and design are subject to the same laws of composition, color combination, harmony. Everywhere I implement the same idea. This is an attempt to create a single style. For the same techniques are characteristic for paintings, and for such an exit into space, like an interior or a sculpture. ”
