On July 15, the Irkutsk Art Museum (Lenin St., 5) opens the exhibition "Russian folk art crafts".
Gorodets and Khokhloma painting became symbols of Russian folk art and an integral part of national culture. These folk crafts have centuries-old traditions. They surprisingly organically combined adherence to ancient traditions with an open, joyful perception of life. Lightweight, durable, sparkling with gold and bright colors, Khokhloma wooden dishes are known all over the world. Among the exhibits of the exhibition are works by honored artists of the Russian Federation Metelkova A. K. and Krovatkina T. M.; works of folk artists of the Russian Federation Udalova V.A. and Gushchin N.A.
In total, about 50 works of remarkable masters of decorative and applied arts are presented.
The exhibition will continue its work until September 15.
