The canvases of one of the most important masters of Russian landscape painting and the modern museum space of the Zvenigorod Manege - this combination puts the exhibition on a par with the leading capital exhibition projects of this year.

“This will be a triumph of the epic forest landscape,” comments the exhibition’s curator Sergei Viktorovich Krivondenchenkov, a leading researcher at the Russian Museum and custodian of the painting collection from the second half of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th centuries.

Zvenigorod, surrounded by relict forests and picturesque landscapes, seems to have been created for such an exhibition. The historic Manege of the 19th century, a cultural heritage site, after restoration in 2023 became one of the best exhibition venues in the Moscow region.
