“The exhibition tells the story of travels in many cities of the world. This is the history of architecture of world capitals, which inspire thousands of poets, musicians, artists around the world. Through the graphics, I convey the special atmosphere of every city I have been or dream of visiting. The desire to capture the city began with St. Petersburg and its amazing city panoramas. I have always been inspired by architecture. I love baroque, complex designs, architectural details. In the paintings I want to show that each of us has our own perception and vision of the world, cities, streets, buildings. Maybe our world is not so ideal and mathematically accurate, maybe these right angles, ideal prospects, physical laws do not exist. I also love to travel, but often there is no time for travel. Therefore, I create images of the cities in which I have been and where else I would like to visit ”(M. Susarenko)
Landscapes of Maria Susarenko, when viewed briefly, remind us of an architectural drawing, but if you just look closely, you can see how the picture is filled with dynamics, breath, movement. Clearly drawn lines are usually associated with accuracy and pedantry, but in Maria’s graphic works this is a kind of provocation - the works are filled with the spirit of freedom, which is deliberately emphasized by the violation of proportions and the expression of color.
