The Pushkin Museum of Contemporary Art Gallery and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art will hold a joint lecture series in Kazan.
On November 30, 2017, our joint project starts with the Moscow Museum of Modern Art - a large cycle of lectures on the history of art.
For the first time in Kazan, we offer students a full annual cycle of lectures on the art of the late XIX-early XXI centuries. The lectures will discuss the main directions of the late XIX-XX centuries and their impact on current artistic processes. The goal of the course is to bridge the gap in education associated with the absence in the program of many creative universities in Kazan of modules on the history and theory of art of the 20th (mainly its second half) - of the 21st centuries. Lecturers will be leading Russian art historians, historians, art critics and curators - employees of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and invited experts. Each of them is a specialist in certain periods, trends and styles, able to captivate in a fascinating and simple way about the difficult nuances of art.
The first lecture module (7 lectures) is devoted to Western European art, and the first lecture will be held on November 30 at 18:00 in the main building of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (64 Karl Marx Street, 2nd floor).
