The program will feature theater productions based on the works of geniuses of Russian literature performed by talented acting groups. In addition, viewers will be able to appreciate unique samples from rich museum collections, and novice authors and young artists will have a brilliant opportunity to meet and chat with stage masters and prominent writers. Your original and original creative show has already become a notable event, having won the hearts of fans in different parts of the country. Within the framework of the project, thematic events will be held: lectures on the life and work of A.P. Chekhov for a wide range of students, prepared jointly with the A.P. Chekhov Literary House-Museum, master classes by famous cultural figures for actors and students of relevant universities.

Last year, more than 3,000 participants were able to attend fascinating lectures, master classes, exhibitions and performances created in the creative laboratory of the Academy of Motion Picture and Theater Arts N. Mikhalkov. This year our Academy will come to Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga and Oryol. It is symbolic that in the Year of the Theater we chose precisely those cities that are the literary Homeland for such outstanding poets and writers as Sergey Yesenin, Leo Tolstoy, Marina Tsvetaeva, Nikolai Leskov, Afanasy Fet, Ivan Turgenev, Fedor Tyutchev. Expanding the boundaries of our one-day festival, we bring together dozens of multi-genre events on one venue, and each of the participants will be able to find an event to their liking, ”rector of the Academy, People’s Artist of Russia Nikita MIKHALKOV addresses guests and participants of the festival.
Throughout the festival, the exhibition “Chekhov. Life Line ”, created jointly with the State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve of A. P. Chekhov“ Melikhovo ”. She will highlight four main periods of the writer’s life and work: Taganrog, Moscow, Melikhovo, Yalta. Visitors will learn about the origins of the writer’s talent, his literary and charitable activities, hobbies, friendships, and creative ties. All four sections corresponding to the periods of Chekhov’s life will be illustrated with photographs, documents, and fine art objects.
The central and final event of the festival in each city will be the screening of the play “Metamorphoses III: Enemies” (artistic director - Nikita Mikhalkov). This performance designer is a kind of literary and stage collage consisting of eight works by the classics of Russian literature A.P. Chekhov and I.A. Bunin, shown to the audience in an unusual format of an open rehearsal.
Nikita MIKHALKOV about the play: “The main event of the festival will be the screening of the play“ Metamorphoses III: Enemies ”. We hope that our literary and stage experiment, created based on the works of Chekhov and Bunin and filled with amazing video installations, will allow each viewer to plunge into the world of truly “live cinema”.
One of the main features for the viewer is the form of the play, combining colorful 3D-scenery and video sketches.
The festival will become a popular platform for communication and cultural exchange with the regions of Russia.

The Academy of Cinematographic and Theater Arts N.S.
