MOSCOW. Pavel Pepperstein, one of the most respected Russian artists, became the next winner of the annual Kandinsky Prize, one of the most important in the world of contemporary art.
This is the largest private award, named after the artist Vasily Kandinsky, who died 70 years ago.
Pavel Pepperstein, whose exhibitions are regularly held in London, Paris, New York and other major cities of the world, received 40,000 euros as a monetary incentive. The award ceremony was held on December 11 in Moscow. According to information sources, Pavel Pepperstein is 48 years old, in addition to painting, he is engaged in music and literature. The Kandinsky Prize Jury selected the artist for his exhibition Holy Politics, which took place in 2014 at the Regina Gallery in Moscow.
