MOSCOW. The fourth season at the Moscow Provincial Theater opened with the premiere of last season - the play "Merry Soldier" staged by Sergei Bezrukov. This year he was first introduced to the audience on the Big Stage. In the afternoon, a troupe gathering took place in this hall, which turned into a real holiday.

Ready-made scenery for the evening performance gave Sergei Bezrukov the opportunity to meet with the artists in an unusual atmosphere. The old-timers of the theater turned into the “Provincial Battalion”, and the young artists who joined the troupe this season became recruits. The signal to start collecting was a shot from a rifle in the hands of Sergei Bezrukov.

First, congratulations were addressed to Boris Galkin, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. His role as Astafyev in the play “Merry Soldier” was appreciated at the festival in Syktyvkar, where artists recently visited, with a prize for playing the best male role. Upon receiving it, the artist spoke of this role as a gift of fate, thanking Sergey Bezrukov for the opportunity he received to realize the image of Astafyev.

According to Boris Galkin, the award of the Syktyvkar festival belongs not only to him, but also to all participants in the performance. Congratulations on the award ended with presenting the artist with another gift - a few days ago Boris Galkin celebrated his 69th birthday. He was handed the same ax as his hero chopped wood in the performance, autographed by artists of the troupe.

Then Sergey Bezrukov recalled the achievements of the theater last season and talked about plans for the new theater year. It is planned that 6 new performances will appear in the repertoire of the Provincial Theater. A little more than a week is left before the first premiere. On October 1, the audience will be presented with the directorial work of Anna Gorushkina - “View from the Bridge”, staged based on the work of Arthur Miller.
