MOSCOW. Graduates of the director’s workshop of Rimas Tuminas present at the New Stage of Vakhtangovtsev four graduation performances, which became a debut for young directors on the professional stage. The first of the debutants was director Hugo Erikssen, who showed the public his reading of Sartre’s play “Behind Closed Doors” on January 10th.

The young director already has an acting education (Moscow Art Theater School), experience as an actor. He is also not a newcomer in directorial work - Hugo Erikssen was an assistant director in the performances of “Running” and “Eugene Onegin”. There is also directorial work in his creative baggage - staging the play "Artaud and his Double."

Tuminas uses its own training system, where special attention is paid to thematic semesters. In their course, one author is studied, and then an independent sketch of the play is prepared according to his work. Work on the creation of a full-fledged performance begins only after the approval of the shown sketch.

Another important feature of the learning process is in the workshop of Tuminas - each student has the opportunity, while carrying out the staging of educational works, to occupy in them both future actors studying acting in "Pike" and professionals working in the Vakhtangov Theater.

Hugo Erikssen invited three young actors representing the theater to them to participate in his thesis. Vakhtangov, relying on their professional skills. The director did not use any scenery or new-fashioned tricks. The intense atmosphere created by Vladimir Logvinov, Maria Volkova and Polina on the stage is complemented only by music written by Vasily Mikhailov.

Until January 19th, viewers will see three more performances of graduates of the director’s workshop of Tuminas.
