SOVIETSK. The new version of the play “The House of Bernard Alba” was shown by the artists of the Tilsit Theater on the opening day of the theater season. The performance was staged by director Eugene Marcelli, who arrived in the city in the middle of summer where he worked for many years, only a week, using the days of his vacation for rehearsals in his native theater. For the sake of a rare opportunity now to meet again with the director, who does not forget about the Tilsit Theater team, the actors of the troupe also went to work.

This play performed by artists of the Theater. Volkova, where since 2011 Marcelli has been working as artistic director, the director successfully showed at the Golden Mask festival. In Yaroslavl, this performance was prepared for a year. However, in the Tilsit Theater, Eugene Marcelli did a tremendous job, creating a performance that was significantly different from the production in Yaroslavl.

The first show of the performance for journalists and the most devoted fans of the theater was held on August 8, in the form of a dress rehearsal. Before its beginning, Marcelli warned that in the performance it is possible to change individual episodes. However, during the performance, the director never stopped the artists.

It is clear that only those spectators who saw the "House of Bernard Alba" in the theater of Yaroslavl can notice changes in the performance. For the audience of the Tilsit Theater, which saw the premiere performance on August 22, it is simply a wonderful work of the beloved director. The next day, the premiere will be presented to the audience again, and a week later, on August 30, the audience of Kaliningrad will see the “House of Bernard Alba”.

The performance of Eugene Marcelli will open the festival “Baltic Seasons” - a large-scale project held annually. It will feature the best works of the country’s most famous directors. This year the Baltic Seasons will be held for the 11th time.
