CHELYABINSK. The international festival “CHELEVEK THEATER”, the second time gathering theaters representing their small-scale performances, opened on February 23 at the New Art Theater. This theater forum was created on the initiative of the NHT. The idea of ​​the festival was supported by the Chelyabinsk branch of the Russian Theater Union and the city administration.

Last year it was held for the first time, and was not only approved by the festival jury, but also received a wish from its members to continue this successful undertaking. The past festival was also held in an international format, which to some extent contributed to the fact that the NHT was invited to the International Theater Institute.

Since only a week was allotted for the festival, out of 60 applications for participation in the festival program, only 14 teams were selected. Among the participants of the festival there are old friends. Spectators will meet with the collectives of the famous theater from Perm “Near the Bridge” and Nizhny Novgorod “Zoo”. The remaining groups come to Chelyabinsk for the first time.

The South Ural theaters are represented by the festival organizer, the NHT Theater, the Theater. N. Orlova, and the theater from Zlatoust “Omnibus”. Actors from Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Georgia and Moldova came to the festival. The festival program will feature Russian and foreign drama - classic and contemporary.

This time, when evaluating the performances, more attention will be paid to the role of the actor, and not to the decision of the director. After each performance, an open discussion by the audience and analysis of the work by critics will take place. The first at the festival to show their work "To you, the promised land!" Its owners - actors of the NHT, and after them was presented the performance of actors from Tbilisi - "Maria Callas. Master Class".
