MOSCOW. On the stage of the theater of Oleg Tabakov - the famous "Snuffbox", at the end of the theater season they showed the audience their new work. This time, theater-goers saw a play staged by Shakespeare’s popular play, Twelfth Night.

Shakespeare appeared on the Snuffbox stage for the first time, and for director Mikhail Stankevich, the play was the first production in the comedy genre. According to the director, it was not easy to work, because the performances on this play, staged by the famous masters of the stage, are known.

Before the premiere, the small theater hall radically changed its interior - benches familiar to regular spectators, replaced with soft ottomans that look like coastal boulders. The floor was covered with fine reddish gravel, and a white marquee appeared on the stage. The performance is accompanied by live music performed by a small orchestra, located under the very roof of the hall.

The performance turned out to last more than four hours, but the audience did not have to get bored. Although the genre of the play is designated as comedic, and in the play there are enough jokes, funny situations in which his characters fall, the story itself is very dramatic. Olga Krasko plays the heroine who lost her brother during the shipwreck.

The role of the butler Malvolio invited Mikhail Porechenkov, who works in the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov.
