In Moscow, the opening of the library-cultural center of the writer Fazil Iskander Automatic translate
MOSCOW. The walls of the cultural center dedicated to the Abkhaz writer Fazil Iskander will contain books from his home library, rare family photographs unknown to a wide audience, a desktop, at which the author wrote most of his works, as well as some items from his personal account.
Fazil Iskander, a living native of Abkhazia, who has written many works about his native Abkhazian village of Chegem, where he spent his childhood, considers himself an original Russian writer, since he wrote all his life only in Russian. The idea of creating such a cultural center, which would perpetuate the memory of the works of the world famous Fazil Iskander, came to his relatives a year ago during the celebration of his 85th birthday.
Fazil Iskander, recently rarely appearing in public, came to the opening of a cultural center with his wife Antonina Khlebnikova. She said that due to her husband’s illness, in recent years he no longer works on the creation of new works. She also noted that some of the interior items of Fazil Iskander’s office will be transferred to the library, where everyone can see them, so that, as she said, “it’s all gone and people got it.”
In the near future, a major overhaul is planned in the library and cultural center of Fazil Iskander, after which residents and guests of the capital will be able to visit it.
