The start of a large-scale readership campaign was announced by Google on October 3, 2014. For 36 hours, 723 readers continuously read the novel of L.N. Tolstoy "Anna Karenina." Among these people are the descendants of the great classic and his fans, scientists and writers, politicians and television presenters, directors and actors and others.
A convenient navigation system is implemented on the project’s website, designed to search for excerpts from the novel by topic, platform, reader. The text of the work is integrated with the video, which allows you to follow the reading of passages. Also on the resource you can find various links to historical references, maps, images and videos, and much more. Especially for the project “Anna Karenina. Live Edition ”four original compositions were recorded, which can also be found and listened to on the site.
It is worth noting that the project, allowing you to hear how famous personalities read “Anna Karenina,” got into the Guinness Book of Records. The joint work of Google and the Museum-Estate "Yasnaya Polyana" became the record holder in terms of the volume of attracted audience to the readers’ marathon on the Internet.
