Exhibition of graphics by the Altai artist G.F. Burkov in Barnaul Automatic translate

BARNAUL. The Altai Krai Museum brought to Barnaul “The World of Graphics by G. Burkov”. This exhibition, consisting of 25 works by Gennady Burkov at different times, belongs to the Art Museum of the Altai Territory. The artist’s works were donated to the museum by his son, Andrei Gennadievich.

The venue for the exhibition was the Children’s Art School. Future artists studying at art school number 6, were the first to get acquainted with the work of the famous Altai graphic artist and painter, whose work is stored in many famous museums in the country.

Gennady Fedorovich received the profession of an artist in Ivanovo, where in 1957 he graduated from art school. He lived in Barnaul since 1970. The artist’s place of work was regional television. The talented graphic artist actively collaborated with the Altai book publishing house, designing and illustrating books for children and other publications of various directions.

When viewed from the exhibition, a striking variety of graphic techniques, which the artist masterfully owned, is striking. The exhibition presents works made by charcoal, pencil, sanguine and watercolor. Lithographs and etchings are also on display. The versatility of the master’s talent is evident in his every work.

Among the many graphic techniques the artist singled out pastel. He believed that pastel perfectly conveys color nuances, highlighting the texture of the sheet in the drawing. If we consider the work of Gennady Fedorovich by genre, then he equally often painted landscapes and portraits.

Landscapes painted by the artist for the most part depict the surroundings of Barnaul, painted at different times of the year. The heroes of his portraits appear before the audience as genuine and friendly people.
