This time Elena presented her unique tapestry work at the exhibition. The artist was carried away with the creation of tapestries as a student. After graduating from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute in 1992, Elena Gontarenko continued her studies in a private studio. In total, the artist has been creating tapestries for about thirty years.

During this time, she gradually improved the technique of their manufacture, she had her own creative style. Since the master provided for the exhibition the works performed at different times, it is noticeable in them how her technique changed, how new motifs appeared in her works.

To create a tapestry requires no less labor and imagination than to paint pictures. When creating early works, the artist strove for their content, most often they have completed stories. Each detail of the tapestry in them is worked out in detail. Later, Elena began to turn to abstract compositions, where the harmony of color and texture comes to the fore.

The artist with imagination approaches the use of the natural properties of wool. Applying various weaving techniques when creating her works, she receives embossed inclusions, thereby filling the canvases with greater expressiveness. The exposition presents 40 tapestries of different years.

Elena Gontarenko will hold a creative meeting on July 29, at which everyone is welcome, and her original tapestries can be seen in the museum until September 20.
