The opening of the traveling exhibition, presented by the St. Petersburg Union of Artists under the name “Petersburg Meetings”, took place on the eve of the weekend in the exhibition hall of the Museum of Fine Arts of Kaluga. For the first time such a meeting with the work of St. Petersburg artists was held in 2012.

Then the traveling exhibition traveled to cities belonging to the North-Western District of the Russian Federation, where it was hosted in Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Vyborg, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk and Arkhangelsk. This time the tour of the mobile project, starting in Kaluga, will continue in other cities located in the Central District of the Russian Federation. "Petersburg meetings" will go to Tula, Kaluga, Murom, Tambov and Lipetsk.

The organizers of the exhibition selected for display in these cities more than six dozen paintings representing the works of the leading masters of St. Petersburg. However, the exhibition area was small to accommodate all the works intended to create an exposition. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see only thirty of them.

The organizers of the exhibition tried to choose the most interesting paintings by Petersburg authors, made in a variety of genres and styles. Everyone is invited to get acquainted with the exposition. Petersburg Meetings await museum visitors until April 10. The idea of ​​a traveling exhibition was voiced when, in 2008, an exhibition under that name was held in the halls of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists.

Now this idea is being implemented for the second time. The St. Petersburg Meetings mobile exhibition will allow residents of different regions to see the works of St. Petersburg artists who display their favorite corners of their hometown on their canvases. Most of the paintings included in the exhibition are dedicated to the Northern capital.
