Seaside painter Yuri Volkov presented his anniversary exhibition in Vladivostok Automatic translate

VLADIVOSTOK. Until April 13, a personal exhibition of Yuri Volkov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, is open in the halls of the Primorsky branch of the Union of Artists. Her discovery, held on March 25, is dedicated to the anniversary of the painter, celebrating his 75th birthday.

This anniversary exposition, which collected 61 paintings, became a retrospective of his work. It presents works created in different years. Some of them are constantly in the Seaside art gallery, some are stored in the artist’s workshop. Some works of Yuri Ivanovich entered the exhibition from private collections.

Presenting his works at the opening of the exhibition, Yuri Volkov emphasized that not only his work, but also his life was connected with the sea. Therefore, most of his works are dedicated to people whose profession is truly marine - to fishermen. The painter himself twice traveled around the world on the famous frigates "Pallas" and "Hope." Hundreds of works brought by Yuri Ivanovich from these flights have preserved the artist’s impressions of the world of the Great Ocean.

The artist noted the successful participation of his paintings in international exhibitions. The guests who attended the opening of the exhibition were especially interested in the story of Yuri Ivanovich about his two-month stay in China. At the request of collector Wang Tongren, who has a private museum in Harbin, the painter wrote copyright copies of his works there. To accommodate them, the collector allocated a hall in his museum.

The artist was born on Sakhalin, but after studying in Vladivostok, where he received a professional art education at the school and institute, the whole life of Yuri Volkov was connected with Primorye. However, he never forgot about Sakhalin, regularly visiting the island on creative trips, bringing in landscapes and ideas for new works.
