MOSCOW. The partnership of painters in its exhibition hall presents a retrospective of the work of Svetlana Zhigalova. “There is no limit to my joy,” as the author called her solo exhibition, which opened on January 25th. The exposition includes more than 70 works of art created by the artist in large and small forms.
The theme of joy, emphasized in the name of the exhibition, for Svetlana Zhigalova is the main theme of her paintings. In her work, she often turns to plot paintings, the characters of which are children. On them you can see how children play, how, accompanied by a faithful dog, travel as a boy company along forest paths.
No less interesting are the portraits painted by Svetlana Zhigalova. In the artist’s performance, works of the portrait genre become inspirational and expressive. Faces in portraits are recognizable at first sight. Svetlana is able to show the natural plasticity and state of mind of her heroes.
Although the artist, creating story paintings and group portraits, works for a long time in the studio, she has a sufficient number of works created in the open air. Especially interesting are her still lifes created in nature - berries on bushes, flowers growing on the artist’s canvases look absolutely alive.
Working in the open air, Svetlana Zhigalova pays much attention to coloristic tasks, capturing the slightest changes in the state of nature. The artist stubbornly searches for new expressive forms, which develops her pictorial-plastic language. The versatility of her amazing talent allows Svetlana Zhigalova to work in other types of art presented in the exhibition.
The exhibition, open on February 6th, also features graphics, ceramics and panels.
