In MMOMA presented the exhibition of the artist from the USA Eduard Beckerman "Beyond Dreams" Automatic translate
MOSCOW. “Beyond Dreams” - under this name, MMOMA presented the work of Edward Beckerman, an artist born in Russia, but living and working in the United States since the mid-70s.
As a teenager, Beckerman dreamed of becoming a dancer. His abilities were enough to enter the school at the Bolshoi Theater at a time when the future artist was still a Muscovite. Having moved with his family to the United States, Beckerman continued his studies in New York, in Dzhulliard, where students study different types of arts, including dancing.
The resulting injury did not give Edward the opportunity to pursue a career in ballet, then he decided to start painting. For four years he studied in the Student Art League. During this time, Beckerman received enough creative experience to develop his own authorial style.
From his work it is clear that the author is competent in such forms of art as choreography and sculpture. His compositions are filled with music and plastic energy. The creation of such emotional works is facilitated by Bekkerman’s use of the thick, almost careless strokes inherent in his pictorial style.
At the opening of the exhibition "Beyond Dreams", available for visiting until November 29, the author was present, as well as official representatives of the United States and Russia. The director of MMOMA, Zurab Tsereteli, also participated in the ceremony. The exhibition includes the works of Beckerman, the creation of several decades.
Visitors to the exhibition will see the grotesque series “Faces and Heads” written in the 1992-1999s, “Guardian Angels” created by the author from 1993 to 2012. Abstract paintings are also presented, combined in a series of "Spirits and Dreams." This series was completed in 2015. The canvases of the Victory series, also included in the exposition, are dated the same year.
