The artist visited the Arkhangelsk region, Karelia, the Komi Republic and the Perm region, where he painted from nature the most interesting landscapes of northern nature. By combining his work in the exhibition, Andrei Zakharov presented it under the name “Russian North”.
Having visited the exhibition, each of the visitors can see with what kind of love Andrei Zakharov belongs to the northern nature. He has been to these parts repeatedly, bringing from each trip unique landscapes of untouched nature. Each of his works, which has a unique authorial style, reflects the artist’s feelings and his attitude to reality.
Specialists classify Andrei Zakharov as one of the best artists of modern Russia working in a realistic open-air direction. His work was appreciated by the honored award of the Russian Academy of Arts - the "Golden Medal". The artist’s paintings adorn the collections of Russian museums. His work was acquired by the Chinese Art Museum of Shandong Province.
The works of Andrei Zakharov participated in the famous Christie and Sotheby’s charity auctions. Kostroma artist is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts and a member of the International Art Fund.
