YAROSLAVL. A small mansion, built in 1815, is now part of the complex of the art museum. Now it houses the Museum of Foreign Art, a ceremonial presentation of which will take place on April 29th.
Art connoisseurs receive a magnificent exhibition venue where the Yaroslavl art museum will be able to display masterpieces representing the works of European and Eastern masters. The richest collection of the Yaroslavl Museum of Art was collected over 95 years.
The mansion, which houses the Museum of Foreign Art, consists of three floors. The two upper floors of the museum are dedicated to permanent exhibits. The second floor is for exhibits representing European art. Its space is divided into halls representing the art of Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
In these halls there are paintings made by famous European masters, starting from the 16th century. Among them you can see the work of artists whose names have long been known to the whole world - Albrecht Durer and Giovanni-Battista Piranesi, Jacques Callot and David Teniers Jr. The exposition of picturesque masterpieces is complemented by tapestries, furniture, and porcelain items.
Having risen to the third floor of the museum, the visitor will get from the eastern countries. Here are works of art whose authors lived in China and Japan. The exhibition space is decorated with luxurious screens and vases in which oriental artists kept brushes.
The entire first floor of the mansion is reserved for the exhibition hall. The first exhibition housed in the museum and available to visitors after its opening will be a collection of English engravings. The authors of these works lived and worked in the 18th century. The exposition includes the works of 30 authors of various subjects - from portraits to landscapes.
