The first Russian author at the new exhibition site was an artist from Kostroma Andrei Zakharov. The exhibition, the exposition of which includes more than twenty new paintings by the artist, is presented to visitors under the name "Russian North".

Thanks to this manner of painting, even in the harsh northern landscapes there are no gloomy tones. All canvases written by Andrei Zakharov look bright and memorable.

The genre in which the artist works, art critics call “an original landscape sketch”, adding that with his brush Zakharov knows how to reflect beauty in any of its manifestations. All works made by the artist are written exclusively from nature. On his canvases, visitors to the exhibition will see landscapes painted while traveling around the Urals, the Komi Republic, and Karelia. Kostroma landscapes are also presented at the exhibition.

Andrei Zakharov says that the favorite subjects for his paintings are village streets, ancient temples and nature untouched by civilization. Over the past decade, the artist has repeatedly visited the remote corners of the Russian North, bringing a whole series of new works from each trip. It is possible that today it is one of the best works created by the artist. His works are highly appreciated by colleagues and art lovers.
