"Racurs Chupyatova" - the work of Leonid Chupyatov, who died in the blockade Automatic translate
MOSCOW. Gallery "Our Artists", located in Sechenovsky Lane, invites you to get acquainted with the work of the artist Leonid Chupyatov, who passed away during the siege of Leningrad.
It is possible that many art lovers will hear this name for the first time - his work is practically unknown to the general public. However, the artist’s works, recently often appearing at major auctions, are in great demand.
The personal exhibition of the artist, called "Rakurs Chupyatova", opened for the first time. The painter created his works relatively recently, in the first half of the twentieth century, but very few works have survived.
More than half of his paintings burned out after the death of Chupyatov in 1941, and the rest went to private collections. Only a few works of the artist are preserved in the collections of museums in our country.
The opening exhibition placed in the gallery halls almost forty works by Leonid Chupyatov, presented for display from the collections of three museums and twenty collections of paintings by private collectors. For most connoisseurs of painting, this exhibition will be a discovery - acquaintance with a major Russian artist, giving birth to new ideas in the creative search, which served to achieve the artistic expression of the paintings.
Leonid Chupyatov studied at the Academy of Arts of St. Petersburg. Its leader was the famous artist Petrov-Vodkin, who considered Chupyatov one of the best students. The exhibition presents a series of works created in the 20-30s, as well as a miraculously preserved painting, created in 1941, in a city surrounded by fascists. This painting - “The Cover of Our Lady over the besieged city”, can be considered a symbol of the besieged Leningrad.
A scientific catalog has been published for the exhibition, open until December 22.
