MOSCOW. Yesterday, October 15, in the Tretyakov Gallery, which is located on Krymsky Vylu, an exhibition of the Russian artist Natalia Goncharova was opened.
This is the second major exhibition in the history of Russia since 1913. In halls 60 and 61 located on two floors, four hundred exhibits of the period of her work from 1907 to 1956 are placed. The exhibition included works from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery, which has a unique collection of works by Goncharova, unique in quantity and quality, as well as from 23 domestic and foreign museums and private collections. Among the western partners of the project are Paris museums: the Georges Pompidou Center, the Museum of Modern Art, the Gallera Fashion Museum, as well as the Ludwig Museum (Cologne), the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), and ABA Gallery (New York). The vast majority of works from these collections have never been exhibited in Russia. Natalia Goncharova is ranked as the founder of avant-garde Russian art.
The exhibition was opened by the Director General of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Irina Vladimirovna Lebedeva. The opening was also attended by Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

Visitors to the Tretyakov Gallery had the opportunity to fully get acquainted with the work of one of the brightest figures of art of the twentieth century. On October 16, a large-scale exhibition of the famous Russian artist N. S. Goncharova began work.
The basis of the exhibition was a unique collection of works by Natalia Sergeyevna from the funds of the Tretyakov Gallery. Complemented the exhibition, which included about four hundred exhibits created from 1907 to 1959, private collectors, as well as Russian and foreign museums.
Museum staff worked for several years to implement this large-scale project. Western partners participated in the creation of the project - museums of Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, New York. With their help, Russian art lovers will see works that have never been to Russia before at the exhibition.
At the exhibition, one of the central places was occupied by the panel “Autumn Evening of the Spanish Woman”, familiar to researchers of N. S. Goncharova’s creativity only from the catalog of the 1929 Paris exhibition. For the first time, after the Russian exhibition a hundred years ago, you can fully see the picturesque cycle "Harvest".
The organizers of the project placed the works included in the exhibition, in such a way that each of the periods of the artist’s work is allocated in a separate spatial zone. In addition to the paintings created by Natalia Sergeevna, at the exhibition you can see books designed by the artist, sketches for performances.
For the first time, created sketches of costumes and fabrics created for fashion houses are demonstrated. The Paris Fashion Museum of Gallera provided a dress designed for the exhibition by N. S. Goncharova for the exhibition.
