The opening of the exhibition of artist Evgeny Ivanovich Tretyakov, a master of painting working in the genre of still life and landscape, took place on January 9 in the exhibition hall of the Yaroslavl branch of the Union of Artists. Unfortunately, connoisseurs of the artist’s work, gathered at the grand opening of the exhibition, the long-awaited event was overshadowed by sad news - on this day Evgeny Ivanovich died in a Moscow hospital.

A farewell gift from the artist to everyone who became a guest of his exhibition was photo albums with pictures of the master’s works printed in them and, for many, a collection of poems written by Yevgeny Ivanovich. The students of Tretyakov, talking about the extraordinary kindness of the artist’s character and his careful attitude to the people around him, promised that they would take care of the publication of memoirs written by Yevgeny Ivanovich, which should become another particle that complement his creative heritage.

Evgeni Tretyakov received his professional art education at the Surikov Moscow Art Institute, which he graduated in 1951. Then he trained for two years at the Bolshoi Theater. Then he continued his creative work, working for seven years as an artist in various theaters in the capital. Then he was invited to work as a teacher at the Kalinin Moscow School, where he began his teaching career in 1960.

The paintings that made up the exposition of the opening exhibition were painted in a sincere authorial manner characteristic of Evgeny Tretyakov, with juicy brush strokes. They use all the expressive possibilities of nature in landscapes and objects in still lifes. The artworks took part in many exhibitions, are in collections of Russian museums.
