Exhibition of graphics by Marc Chagall on the anniversary of the great master for the residents of Altai Automatic translate

Altai Territory could not stay away from the celebration of the anniversary of Marc Chagall, a famous artist with a worldwide reputation. This year, the great master, whose work was adequately appreciated by lovers of painting, turned 125 years old. Employees of the Altai State Museum located in Barnaul provided fans of the artist’s work, as well as those interested in painting, with a unique opportunity to visit the exhibition of graphic art by Marc Chagall dedicated to this date.

At the exhibition, which opens on August 16, visitors will be presented with graphic works, with images expressing the original reading by the master of biblical texts. A series of illustrations for the Bible consists of 76 lithographs, which are not available in Russian museum collections. The biblical images in each of them are shown with a deep understanding of the essence of complex relationships between people.

Chagall did not come up with a name for his works, each was titled very briefly, therefore, biblical texts serve as comments on lithographs. When viewing the artist’s works, visitors will be accompanied by music written specially for the project by composer Roman Ryazantsev.

Since lithographs for the museum exposition were obtained from private collections of German art collectors, a unique exhibition was also dedicated to celebrating the Year of Germany in the country. The first visitors will be able to see the “Bible stories”, one of the most significant episodes in the artist’s life, from 11 a.m.

Although interest in the work of Marc Chagall is great in all countries of the world, this series of graphics is not well known to many art lovers. Residents of the Altai Territory will be able to see the rare graphic works of the master until September 16.
