Anatoly Kaplan is a very symbolic figure in Soviet art. Each of his works, whether graphics, painting or sculpture - like food for the mind. The graphic works presented at the exhibition partly consist of satirical drawings, partly from the hand-painted master, episodes of the real life of people of the Soviet era.
Drawing graphics, in which the artist worked most of his time, formed the basis of the exhibition. 78 years of life allowed him to witness the rapidly changing times - the passing of the century balls and nobles, the coming era of great construction and hard workers. However, on his sheets, executed quickly, inspiringly, the time, as if going backwards. And now that which seemed forgotten, is perceived as an integral part of the present. And with all the most significant illustrations, both known at the Union and received a «second life» after its disintegration, the public will be able to get acquainted when visiting the museum.
