Graphics by Anatoly Kaplan at the National Art Museum of Belarus Automatic translate
Until July 20, residents of Minsk will be able to immerse themselves in the work of Anatoly Kaplan. The exposition presented for viewing was entirely composed of the museum funds. More than 260 archival materials showing all aspects of the work of this faithful figure in art.
Anatoly Kaplan is a very symbolic figure in Soviet art. Each of his works, whether it be graphics, paintings or sculptures, is like food for the mind. The graphic works presented at the exhibition partly consist of satirical drawings, partly from depictions of real life of people of the Soviet era, captured by the hand of the master.
The circulation graphics, in which the artist worked most of his time, formed the basis of the exposition. 78 years of life allowed him to witness a rapidly changing time - the passing century of balls and nobles, the coming era of great construction and hard workers. However, on his sheets, executed quickly, with inspiration, time seems to be reversing. And now that which seemed forgotten is perceived as an integral part of the present. And with all the most significant illustrations, both known during the Union and those who received a “second life” after its collapse, the public will be able to get acquainted when visiting the museum.
