Stars hit Inferno at In Dante Veritas Automatic translate
On November 16, on the 6th floor of the Afimall City shopping center, the premiere of the ballet performance Inferno 9 Circles, performed by artists of the Russian National Ballet Theater, took place. The performance was created specifically for the exhibition of the sculptor, architect and writer Vasily Klyukin, which has already managed to conquer Moscow. Inferno was inspired by such a bold staging of producer and choreographer Valentin Sobolev. The production was attended by artists of the Bolshoi Theater, the Kremlin Ballet, the New Ballet, and others. The music from the last album of the English electronic music group Orbital, released for the first time in six years, was chosen as the musical design.
Celebrity guests, bloggers and journalists came to appreciate the unusual performance that combines theater, electronic music and contemporary: Anya Tikhaya, Alena Sviridova, Tanya Tereshina, Elena Panova, Anastasia Krainova, Anastasia Neonova, NJohn and others. After the performance, all those present could go on their own journey through the “9 circles of Inferno”.
In Dante Veritas is a modern interpretation of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The exhibition is supported by the Russian Museum, the Afimall City shopping center and the Panorama360 observation deck. The exhibition opened this summer at the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), and especially for the Moscow premiere, Vasily Klyukin prepared a unique interactive installation. Anger, Despondency, Gluttony, Hypocrisy, Seduction - viewers will face human vices literally face to face. 27 “living sculptures” created based on the greatest work of world literature, including the death mask of Dante, each character is made using a special author’s technique: steel plates, like the pages of a book, are assembled into each other without any additional fastening. The creation of all exhibits took 409 sheets of metal with a total weight of 15 tons.
In addition, Vasily Klyukin created new objects especially for the capital exhibition in Moscow City, and when designing the exhibition space, he used mapping installations to convey the atmosphere of Inferno. In the "9 circle", in the Hall of the Traitor, visitors can even leave the initials of those people who have ever betrayed them. After Moscow, as part of a world tour, the collection will go to the Venice Biennale (Arsenal), and from there to the Vatican (Braccio di Carlo Magno St. Peter’s Cathedral), New York and Miami.
In Dante Veritas is open to the public until January 27, 2019.
