State Museum of Architecture named after A.V. Shchuseva presents a traveling exhibition of the State Biological Museum named after K.A. Timiryazev "Dried - Believe." This is a combination of archival documents, science and scenography by artist Peter Pasternak. The project was attended by contemporary artists - Andrey Kuzkin, Chaim Sokol and Ivan Schukin.

The project was created on a grant from the V. Potanin Charity Fund as a winner of the contest “A Changing Museum in a Changing World”, 2017.

The history of the Solovetsky Special Purpose Camp is viewed from a new, unexpected angle - through a sheet of herbarium, which acts as a scientific source, a symbol of memory, an archival document. It begins with herbs that sprouted hundreds of kilometers from their native places and were found near the destroyed camp huts of mainland logging missions.

This exhibition is about memory, fragility and implicit traces. The eye slips past until we know that these are traces. People leave, grass migrants disappear, but herbarium leaves remain - documents confirming that the migrants - people and grasses - were. Botanists at the exhibition are translators who decipher the "language" of plants.

Visitors will see herbariums and stories associated with them: carnations from the runway of the Moscow airfield; a green carpet of grass in the place of the Norillag Women’s Unit; five stems suspended upside down from the collections of a naturalist who spied on the Decembrists and Pushkin; sheets of Solovetsky prisoners and living human stories.

The exhibition was prepared in conjunction with the International Memorial with the assistance and assistance of the Department of Higher Plants, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University, Belomorsk Biological Station named after N.I.
