ACHIEVEMENT ”, implemented in 2015-2017 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Creative Union of Russian Artists.

Exhibition project “ISLAND. UNDERSTANDING ” consists of 2 parts.

In 2015, the first part of the project - “Sviyazhskaya Ear” was implemented, in 2017 - the second part of the project “Sviyazhsky House”. In the format of the project, art exhibitions were organized in Kazan, Moscow and Sviyazhsk (graphics, painting, art objects, DPI), two catalogs were published.

The organizers of the project provided artists with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the historical environment of the island-town of Sviyazhsk with its unique monuments of Russian architecture and painting of the 16th-19th centuries and create artistic interpretations of its monuments, the surrounding natural landscape, the people who inhabit it or have ever had anything to do with it. Today Sviyazhsk combines history and modernity, ancient architectural monuments and the desire for modernization, museumification and the realities of everyday life, the prayer of Orthodox monasticism and the tourist environment, great achievements, contradictions and tragedies of the history of our country.

The comprehension of any phenomenon of history and culture occurs not only through the study of events, biographies of prominent personalities, archival documents, but also through simple things that form the course of life - a house, household items, food, customs, habits.

The organizers of the project propose to discuss such an important issue for modern society as the ecology of culture, which implies the study of a whole complex of human relationships in the whole variety of forms of his life, created material and spiritual values.

A kind of brand island-city of Sviyazhsk became the ear. For centuries, fishing has been one of the main occupations, providing the islanders with food, income, entertainment, prompting a special meditative state of mind.

Sviyazhtsev have their own secrets to cooking fish soup. For organizers, the concept of “Island” goes beyond the geographical point, turning into a symbol of the country, the Motherland, giving the opportunity to extract historical experience from a particular case, to change their attitude to life. Through the comprehension of small concepts that reflect different aspects of the whole, the comprehension of the Island takes place.

Home is one of the foundations of our lives. This is our family home, giving a sense of security and confidence. The word "home" always wants to be supplemented with the word "native", implying that both ourselves and our ancestors grew up within its walls.
