This exhibition aims to acquaint viewers of Kaluga and guests of the city with the proposals of the artist Vladimir Leonidovich Trofimenko on the formation of the aesthetic environment of certain parts of Kaluga. Drawing on history and trying to connect his proposals with the current rhythms and peculiarities of life, the artist offers decorative compositions made in layouts and sketches. The objects on display are not an order, but they claim to attract public attention to the possibilities of professional artists in creating a comfortable and aesthetically organized environment for the life of Kaluzhan. This exhibition is especially relevant in connection with the upcoming anniversary dates - the 650th anniversary of Kaluga and the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight.

Vladimir Leonidovich Trofimenko is a 1972 graduate of the decorative design department of the Krasnodar Art School. Lives in Kaluga for 20 years. The main labor activity took place in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he was engaged in monumental works, decorated enterprises, city institutions, houses of culture, etc. In 1996 he was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 1997 - 2000 Chairman of the Board of Artists in Astana. Since 2000, a pensioner, lives in Kaluga. He is engaged in painting portraits and other commissioned works. At the moment, he made proposals for the design of the city.

Work on the Kaluga projects began in 2016, and by 2018 all the presented models were created.

Stele - It is a vertical memorial sign on a cruciform base, in honor of the 650th anniversary of Kaluga, with the name of the city, the image of the coat of arms, the date of foundation and five different-sized stars, conventionally signifying the growing importance in the development of the quality of life and the hierarchy of Russian cities.

Two projects, which are thematically related to each other - "Sail" and "Pristan", reveal the peculiarities of the location of the city by the Oka River.

Sail - The monument is intended to remind that the Kaluga land was an important center for the production of sailcloth and provided, among other things, for the Russian fleet. Pier - It is known from the history of Kaluga that in the area of ​​Vorobyevsky Spusk in the 17th - 19th centuries, on the Oka there was a pier, where merchant and pleasure ships and boats moored. There has always been a crossing to the right bank. It exists now. This circumstance led the artist to the idea of ​​marking the place of the berth on the left bank with a decorative composition - a pointer, which, in addition to a practical function, would also carry an aesthetic principle.

Decoration of the Stone Bridge. With the improvement of the ravine under the bridge and the creation of a pedestrian zone in it, it will be possible to see the arcade of the bridge. The space of the arches is supposed to be filled with artistic compositions - stained-glass windows. As conceived by the artist, they depict a certain memorable place of the city of Kaluga, which forms its individual, unique appearance.

Guardian angels on the way. This project is related to the improvement of the site at the intersection of Pushkin and Bauman streets. This place is a small area with quite intense, circular traffic. It is perfect for shaping the aesthetic environment of the city.

Also presented are two projects of murals - decoration of the wall of the end of the building at 11 Gagarina Street. The first project took part in the competition in 2019 and competed for first place. The second was to be shown at a competition in November 2020, which never took place. Within the framework of the exhibition, it becomes possible to show this sketch to a wide audience. The second project is very laconic, but no less expressive. It represents the image of Gagarin from a photograph, as well as an autographed tape. The composition is executed with a rapid upward movement, as if recreating the feeling of flight.
