Tatyana Bashlakova studied fine arts and illustration at the British Higher School of Design and the HSE School of Design, but before that she trained as a clinical psychologist. The artist integrates her background into the practice of art - the experience of psychoanalysis feeds the work of the artist, and painting becomes a tool for introspection, almost a therapeutic method. We can watch him work.

The colors outline the scenes and immediately slip into abstraction to capture the subjective feeling. The lines lose their clarity, the figures are overgrown with masses, as if they are carrying their burden. The facial features in the portraits are smeared like cosmetics. This is a familiar reality, but seen through the eyes of the artist and completed by her creator I. We, the viewers, are given the privilege not only to look through the eyes of the author, but also with his help to look inside - on the other side of vision.

Painting provides a unique opportunity to open the inner world for oneself and for another, to let air into it, but also to regain power over it.
