What we show is a serious turn to acute social issues. By launching this project, we are by no means moving away from the main subject of our activity - to present the art of photography in its entirety and in all its variety of forms, genres, including searches, experiments and priceless examples of tradition. Mentoring the Tolstoyan idea of ​​art as a transfer of feelings, the organizers of the “Happy and Free” deliberately abandoned excessive documentaryism. The spectator is waiting for a rather sensational approach to the work of artists, a bold experience on a topic that is usually hushed up in our country. For many, this will be entering the zone of the unknown, uncomfortable and even unsafe, in a strictly taboo zone.

The goal of the project “This is not allowed with me” was to help women who were abused. With the help of a psychologist, they were able to transform, discover their femininity, sexuality, free themselves from past experiences and become happy.

The project participants sent stories from their lives in which they described when and how they received a physical or psychological trauma. Then they communicated with a psychologist to find those stages of their development where feelings were not lived or “blocked”. These blocks often interfere with life, reminding them of a traumatic experience. After this, a photo session was held with the participation of a psychologist who helped to open up and live the “frozen” emotions, express them and transform. The images at the photo shoot reflected the three stages of the origin and development of femininity: a girl, a teenager, a woman.

The most interesting photographs of the participants, where you can see lived emotions, stories about trauma, internal and external transformation, formed the basis of the photo exhibition “Happy and Free”. The author of the project is convinced that this exhibition will be able to complete the healing process of the participants and help other people who find themselves in similar situations to feel ownership and support. The visitors of the exhibition will enjoy a rich cultural program, interesting creative meetings with a psychologist, stylist, personal effectiveness trainer and other specialists. The gallery will host master classes with the participation of a fitness trainer, yoga coach, photographer. Visitors can not only familiarize themselves with the exhibition, but also take part in the continuation of the project “You Can’t Do It With Me”, purchase a notebook of the same name specially created for the project. In this notebook you can write your thoughts, do tasks, get motivation, express your feelings. The co-author of the notebook is one of the first participants in the project, who shared her experience of healing and liberation from the past.

The funds received from the sale of notebooks will be used to create and support psychological assistance groups for women who have suffered psychological and physical abuse.

The exhibition "Happy and Free" will work in the Gallery of Classic Photography from October 13 to November 12, 2017. October 13 at 19. 00 will be the opening day of the exhibition.
