December 22, 2015 at 16.00 in the halls of the Russian Academy of Arts at the address: st. Prechistenka 21, the opening of an exhibition of works by Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts Valentina Georgievna Kuznetsova.
The exhibition presents about 150 ceramic works and graphic sheets created by the author in recent years.
V. Kuznetsova was born in the village of the Resurrection Republic of Bashkortostan in 1949. She graduated from the painting department of the Ufa College of Arts and the faculty of theory and history of art of the State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin. He has been engaged in ceramics since the late 1970s. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Moscow Union of Artists. The monumental works of V. Kuznetsova adorn the administrative and public buildings of Ufa, Nizhnevartovsk, Sterlitamak and other cities.
The author’s style of V. Kuznetsova does not belong to any direction in modern fine art, although some signs sometimes refer to the Russian folk clay toy, primitive or naive art. However, the original compositional and coloristic decisions of the author, contributing to the creation of an atmosphere of amazing harmony inherent in her works, testify to the artist’s bright, original and completely individual style.
The world of works by V. Kuznetsova is poetic and spiritualized. Refined girls, mother and child, mythical birds and animals are the heroes of her work, whose themes are love and the miracle of life. Her art is drawn to the inner world of a person and conveys a state of happiness, love and quiet contemplation, which are reflected in the names of her works: “Family”, “Motherhood”, “Tenderness”, “I Believe, Hope, Love” and other Characters V. Kuznetsova immediate, filled with sincere feelings. This is an art that brings joy.
It was the irresistible power of love for one’s neighbor that contributed to the emergence of yet another theme of V. Kuznetsova’s work - the biblical one. At the same time, the artist’s biblical characters do not repeat iconographic images, they appear as simple, ordinary people, burdened with worldly concerns, who are in the dark about their future. These are the holy evangelists John, Mark, Luke, Matthew, the saints of the Russian Orthodox Church - Cyril Belozersky, Nikolai the Miracle Worker, Paraskeva Friday, Our Lady of the unfading color, as well as subjects on religious topics - the Annunciation, Mary’s meeting with Elizabeth, "Meeting" and others.
In the artist’s works, flowers are especially beautiful, which are part of many female images or become an independent work. Fragile, as if alive, they embody the feeling of the poetry of life that is inherent in V. Kuznetsova herself.
Favorite materials of the artist are fireclay and faience. V. Kuznetsova has an amazing sense of material, allowing her to create plastically expressive images. The plasticity of her characters is very delicate, the soft outlines of the figures evoke a lyrical mood. The choice of plots and motives is reflected in the author’s desire to convey the beauty of human feeling. There is light in the master’s works, this is the luminosity of the material, and the deep, spiritual light, warmth that fills life with what the artist does. The embodiment of light are the angels created by the master.
Classes in painting, of course, influenced the technique of the master. V. Kuznetsova not only paints her works, she creates with the help of metal salts and glazes an artistic image in color. The color palette in the author’s works is picturesque and decorative, it complements the plastic and serves as a means of displaying the character and state of mind of the character.
The exhibition itself deserves special mention, in which works complement each other, interacting and creating an atmosphere of harmony and warmth.
V. Kuznetsova is a participant in more than 80 art exhibitions held in various cities of Russia and foreign countries - in Prague, Warsaw, Salzburg and Barcelona. The author’s works are in collections of Russian art museums, as well as in private collections in Austria, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Israel, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Finland, France, Japan, etc.
The exhibition runs on January 10, 2016.
