For the first time in Kaluga from February 20 to March 22, 2020, an unusual exhibition of mystical stereo portraits “Scary Memories” by Edward Allen, an American photographer, will be open in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (103 Lenin St.).
The portraits presented at the exhibition were made by hand, using the stereo-vario technique based on original photographs of the Victorian era. Portraits open up a world of a different perception of reality. From a different angle, the visitor will see how the face of a person changes. The work of Edward Allen over the past decade has scared people around the world. He acquires Victorian portraits on various drains, and then manually creates scary stereo pictures from them using spherical microlenses. So the viewer sees cute faces that, when the head is tilted, turn into ghouls and ghouls. Most portraits depict representatives of one family clan. The exhibition features 32 mystical stereo portraits.
